If your teen is a resident of Chula Vista or attends school here, and is between the ages of 13 and 18, your teen may be eligible to apply. This 12-week academy is complimentary and will be held at the Police Department one night a week; three hours each night with some nights going for 3.5 hours. The dates of the Academy will be from February 20th to May 9th from 4:30 to 7:30 pm. We have strict attendance requirements, please apply only if able and willing to make a commitment to attend each class.

We use a first come-first serve basis and a small background check will be done on each applicant. We have limited space and will accept 35 students. The deadline to apply is January 25th. Applicants will be notified within 48 hours that we’ve received the application. Once an applicant passes background and is accepted we’ll send email notification of acceptance. At that time we will request a photo of the teen be emailed and we will email additional paperwork which must be read and signed by both the parent and teen, and brought to the orientation.
